Your right to consult another doctor

You can register with another GP for contraceptive services, if your own doctor does not provide contraceptive services or if you are unhappy talking to your family doctor about sex and contraception.

If you then ask this doctor not to inform your own GP that they have provided contraceptive treatment, they should not do so. However, they would usually explain that it would be in your best interests, from a medical point of view, for your own GP to be informed.
